Since it's been a year since I last posted, I guess I'm due for another post!
We just got back from a fabulous spring break vacation in sunny California and Las Vegas. With the long winter here in Kansas, I was ready to go somewhere, anywhere sunny! Brett caved in and we decided to go to Disneyland.
We did the Disney volunteer deal a month or so ago and got free one-day tickets for 4 of us, so we had to use them, right?
We spent two fun-filled, manic days at Disney. We all had a blast! We started at 7 a.m. and ended at midnight, with a 2-hour break in the middle. The kids did great and we got to see and ride everything we had planned to. To top it off, the weather was PERFECT!
Then we headed east to Las Vegas to visit Brett's brother and nephew. It was a surprisingly fast trip. We had planned on lots of weekend/Spring break traffic, but luckily we were wrong. It was smooth sailing. We spent the next 4 days relaxing, playing Wii, going to Cafe Rio numerous times, and seeing Lion King: The Musical at Mandalay Bay. That's an amazing show if you ever get the chance to see it. Just don't go at 8 p.m. with 4 young children!
We were supposed to fly back to Kansas one week after arriving in California. Trouble is, Brett's alarm didn't go off the morning of our flight. With a 6:30 a.m. flight, the alarm is crucial! Needless to say, we headed back home the following morning. That was fine with me. An extra day of vacation was welcome!
Now, if we can get our USB drive fixed so I can download some pictures . . . Just imagine a family of six smiling and enjoying the sunshine. You get the picture . . .
